About Hiyas

Hi! I’m Hiyas, a designer fueled by curiosity, creativity, and (you guessed it) coffee. With 16 years of experience in web design and illustration, I’ve built a career on turning ideas into visuals that inspire, engage, and delight.

In 2020, I embarked on a new adventure into user experience (UX) design, blending my passion for storytelling with a drive to create meaningful digital experiences. Whether it’s crafting intuitive interfaces or bringing characters to life through art, I approach every project with the same mindset: thoughtful design, a dash of imagination, and a whole lot of heart.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to various creative projects. My artwork has graced the covers of books like The Kite of Stars and Other Stories by Dean Francis Alfar and Philippine Speculative Fiction Volume 2. I also lent my coloring skills to graphic novels such as Siglo: Passion and Cast Issue No. 4. These experiences have enriched my journey, allowing me to collaborate with talented individuals and bring diverse stories to life.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me sipping on a caramel macchiato, dreaming about faraway worlds, or geeking out over my latest fandom obsession. I have a soft spot for cats, dogs, stickers, musicals, and, of course, coffee. Fun fact: I’m practically blind without my glasses and have a steadfast refusal to wear contact lenses. I’m always up for chocolate, food trips, and naps. One day, I’ll figure out how to write a proper “About the Artist” page without feeling silly—but today is not that day.
